Beveling Beams in the field to prepare them for welding to a plate or a splice to another beam is done faster and more accurately with the Beam Beveler. Accurate and clean cuts reduce additional fitting and excessive welding to fill in unnecessary gaps.
The invention provides a simple and effective way to bevel a steel or metal beam in the field, preparing the beam for welding to other beams or other parts of a structure. It eliminates having to grind poor and jagged cuts, resulting in slag entrapment that can cause welds to fail.
Achieve the proper angle for full penetration welds in one cut. Perform inside and outside bevels from the same setup method. It is lightweight and self-supporting in any plane. It fully adjusts to cut up to 36” Wide flange beams and flat plates, and it can easily be manufactured for longer cuts.
It is easy to set up and use with basic knowledge of steel fittings. No 110 VAC power is needed. It is driven by a hand crank, cordless drill, or optional speed-controlled motor accessory. It is built from sturdy, non-corrosive metals to withstand the elements. It saves time on cutting and welding.
